The YMCA of Hong Kong has established the first organic farm in Tung Chung district - Tung Chung Green Organic Farm (GOF), aiming at environment protection, promotion of ecology conservation as well as healthy lifestyle. Green Organic Farm is a social enterprise to serve the Tung Chung community with diversified services and provide employment opportunities for those have difficulties in finding jobs or unemployed Tung Chung residents. We also make effort in constructing a better community by setting up network between neighbors, community organisations, schools and government departments to strengthen helping and caring for one and other.
Products and Services
The services of YMCA Green Organic Farm include guided tours, environmental education workshops, a leisure gardening programme, and the sale of organic produce. At the same time, it provides employment opportunities and training for the community, actively building community networks.
