The Deaf Cafeteria, spearheaded by The Hong Kong Society for the Deaf, is the first social enterprise cafe in Hong Kong primarily managed by deaf individuals. It serves a variety of Chinese and Western cuisines, while also providing valuable on-the-job training and employment opportunities for the deaf community. More than just a workplace, the Deaf Cafeteria is a stage for deaf employees to boost their confidence and demonstrate their self-worth. We firmly believe that every deaf individual possesses unique strengths and advantages to overcome challenges. By hosting various activities, the Deaf Cafeteria establishes a platform for the deaf to interact and exchange ideas with different sectors of society, thus enhancing public understanding and recognition of the deaf community. We are dedicated to creating a "barrier-free communication" environment, allowing staff to communicate in diverse ways, fostering mutual understanding and support. This effort aims to build an inclusive community imbued with empathy, understanding, and cooperation, promoting the integration of deaf and hearing people.
