Time Capsule is a registered charity established in 2016. Our primary focus is to promote and enhance the mental well-being of the elderly through the medium of storytelling. In collaboration with young individuals and individuals with disabilities, we undertake the task of documenting and preserving the life stories of the elderly. Each participant is presented with a personalized book showcasing their experiences, which are subsequently exhibited and toured in schools. This endeavor not only serves as a significant form of acknowledgment for the elderly but also fosters meaningful intergenerational connections by engaging the youth in the process.
Products and Services
1) Books publication featuring the compilation of elderly stories:
Over the years, we have gathered a collection of over 100 stories from elderly individuals. Our objective is to consolidate these stories which will serve as a testament to the contributions made by the elderly in our community, showcasing the rich history of Hong Kong.
2) School tours featuring exhibitions and story-sharing sessions:
We have conducted visits to schools, where we have exhibited these stories and engaged in interactive sessions to share them with students. Our efforts have extended beyond storytelling, as we have also provided instruction on interview skills, thereby helping students enhance their communication and presentation abilities. This initiative has been highly appreciated by teachers.
3) Promotion of an online family tree platform and encouragement of personal family story development:
We developed a website that will allow individuals to document their family stories. By fostering intergenerational connections and facilitating a deeper understanding of one's heritage, this platform aims to encourage people to construct their family narratives. As part of this project, we will be organizing three public sharing sessions to educate participants on how to effectively utilize this system.
