At present, one out of seven Hong Kong people is aged 65 or above. This ratio will further increase to about one in three by 2041. How Hong Kong can leverage on innovation method to properly cope with the ageing population is of paramount concern.
Supported by Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund), our Council is launched the "Silver Innovators' Competition" and the deadline will be on December 31, 2017. The competition is sponsored by the Hong Kong Bank Foundation, and supported by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP).
Highlight:
- The first thematic competition in Hong Kong with an aim to encourage and promote innovative ideas to address the needs for elderly persons
- 8 winners will be selected finally to receive up to HKD200,000 seed money to realize their idea proposals
- The competition will open to both general public and interested parties such as social entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, NGO practitioners, etc.
